Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a public service sorority which was founded in 1913 by 22 students at Howard University, in Washington, DC. Our founders envisioned an organization committed to serious endeavor and community service. The Century City Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, is committed to serving the greater Los Angeles community. As one of our major public service programs, we have established scholarships to enable qualified applicants to continue their education.
Residence in the United States of America is required. A grade point average of 3.0 or better is desired.
The Mary Murphy Scholarship was established by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Century City Alumnae Chapter in 1985. This scholarship is designed to provide financial support to women pursuing graduate and professional degrees, especially in the fields where African American women are underrepresented. The recipient will be notified of the $2,000 scholarship award on June 18th 2020. Check back in January 2020 for the application.
The Sara Finney-Johnson Scholarship was established by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Century City Alumnae Chapter in 2003. This scholarship is awarded to a student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in film, communications, or journalism. The recipient will be notified of the $1,000 scholarship award on June 18th 2020. Check back in January 2020 for the application.
